AFOQT Prep

The OATTS website is authorized by the Air Force for AFOQT and TBAS preparation. AFPC and AETC provide these materials to promote fairness but do not endorse any specific preparation method. Cadets may practice only individually; group study and seeking test information from previous test-takers are strictly prohibited.

*Note: AS200/250 cadets needing a qualifying score for PSP should test before December unless retesting or circumstances require otherwise. Our anticipated deadline for scores to be reflected in WINGS is January 6, 2027.

AFOQT

The Air Force Officer Qualifying Test (AFOQT) evaluates aptitudes relevant to officer commissioning and certain career fields. It consists of 12 subtests that produce several composite scores, including Verbal, Quantitative, Academic Aptitude, Pilot, Combat Systems Officer, and Air Battle Manager. Cadets should prepare for this test seriously because AFOQT results affect program eligibility and can influence rated-career competitiveness. The test takes approximately five hours, and AFROTC cadets must wait at least 90 days before retesting, additionally only two attempts are permitted before requiring a waiver with a valid reason for the third and final possible attempt.

The Education Officer will identify cadets who are due to test or retest and will contact them by email approximately 30 days before the applicable test date. This advance notice is intended to give cadets sufficient time to plan around academic, work, travel, and other obligations. Cadets who are not contacted but believe they need to test may respond to the following survey:

TBAS

The Test of Basic Aviation Skills (TBAS) is a battery of several computerized tests designed to test pilot candidates' abilities in spatial orientation, hand-eye coordination, and multi-tasking. This, combined with AFOQT score, and flying hours makes up the Pilot Candidate Selection Method (PCSM) score.

TBAS SCHEDULING

Please bring the following to the test:

Completed worksheet (print one sided and complete with pen, do not staple)
Unofficial college transcripts (print one sided, do not staple)
Flight logbook if you have flight hours.
Make sure you total the hours for all columns at the bottom of the last page and sign your logbook even if the last page is not full.
If there are empty rows cross them out
If you have previously taken the TBAS bring a printout of your scores
A copy your AFOQT. You can find your score at: https://afmilpers.us.af.mil/afoqtsnet40/default.aspx.

Our Test Center Number is 5157. It is located inside the ROTC building at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

The test normally takes less than takes 2 hours. Bring a sweatshirt in case that room is cold. There is no reason to show early but please be on time. Once graded, your scores will be visible on the following website: http://access.afpc.af.mil/pcsmdmz/index.html. Enter your First Name, Initials & Last Four of your SSN into the "Check PCSM Scores."
